A machine that has wheels that are the same size, and with a bucket is used to load material; earth, rock, etc. into a truck or other vehicle, as well as moving material within a construction site. These machines vary in size and horsepower. Many of these machines are articulated, or hinged in the middle, allowing for greater maneuverability, including the ability to turn in a smaller area. Wheel Loaders can be used in many applications such as, excavating, mining, and road work, as well as in general construction. With the addition of a tree shear, grapple, or other logging attachment, Wheel Loaders can also be used in logging.
